Chelmsford and Maldon Briefing Day – 15th February 2012

1 March 2012

Written and compiled by Miranda McCoy

The Big Lottery Fund (BIG) regional team has been out and about in Essex again, this time to host a Chelmsford and Maldon Briefing Day in partnership with Essex colleagues.

Rochelle Mathieson from the Essex County Council External Funding Team worked with us to organise one of our biggest ever events with over 141 delegates attending. The delegates were treated to a day packed full with information.

People attending were able to listen to a number of experts offering advice and support including Peter Brookes and Sarah Laskar from Chelmsford and Maldon CVS; Rochelle Mathieson from Essex County County External Funding Team; Ed Hickman from Big Lottery Fund; Caroline Taylor from Essex Community Foundation; Suzie Bell from Heritage Lottery Fund and Angela Balcombe from Essex Big Society Fund.

If you were unable to attend you can access all the guidance by downloading the presentations below.

There was a light lunch after which delegates could attend one to ones with the funding organisations or visit the stands for a chat about the local services on offer.

We had over 50 per cent of the delegates respond to the evaluation form. Reassuringly the feedback for ‘What have you learnt about funding?’ was ‘read the guidelines!’

Happily there were a lot of thank you’s that included the following comments:

‘Very well organised event! Thank you for inviting me and for the one to one.’

‘Well organised and good lunch, thank you!’

BIG would like to say thank you to our Essex partners who made the event possible and a BIG thank you to all those who attended.

Good luck to all those who make an application!
